God sees what others overlook. Today’s readings invite us to offer not merely what is easy, but what reveals trust, perseverance, and love hidden in the heart before the Lord.
The Word
Paul speaks of finishing the race and keeping the faith. The psalm gives praise through hope and perseverance. In the Gospel, Jesus honors the widow whose small offering reveals deep trust.
Readings: 2 Timothy 4:1-8; Psalm 71:8-9, 14-17, 22; Mark 12:38-44
Reflection
The widow gives what appears small, but Jesus sees the depth of trust behind it. Others give from abundance; she gives from poverty. Her offering reveals a heart that depends on God more than on visible security.
Paul speaks of finishing the race and keeping the faith. Faithfulness is not measured only by public success. It is often hidden in perseverance, quiet sacrifice, and daily surrender when no one else notices.
Today’s readings ask us to consider what we hold back from God. The Lord is not impressed by display. He sees the heart. A small act offered with trust can become a beautiful gift in his sight.
Call to Action
Make one hidden offering today: a prayer, sacrifice, gift, or act of service known only to God.
Prayer
Lord, help me offer you not only what is easy, but what reveals true trust in your care. Amen.
