Some days, we carry both joy and uncertainty. The Easter message meets us there. In today’s readings, God speaks into fearful hearts and fills them with hope, reminding us that the risen Jesus is near and still leading His people.
The Word
Peter boldly proclaims that Jesus, who was crucified, has been raised by God and exalted in glory. Psalm 16 echoes this confidence: the Lord does not abandon His faithful one but guides him on the path to life. In the Gospel, the women leave the tomb fearful yet overjoyed, and Jesus meets them on the way with words of peace and direction: “Do not be afraid.”
Reflection
Easter faith does not pretend fear is absent. The women at the tomb were trembling and joyful at once. Yet Jesus met them in that very moment. His presence changed their fear into a mission. What began as trembling became testimony.
Peter’s words in Acts carry that same courage. The resurrection is not only a past event to admire. It is the living truth that reshapes how we stand, speak, and hope today. Because Christ is risen, despair is not our destiny. Because Christ is risen, our lives are not ruled by what seems lost or sealed away.
This day invites us to walk with resurrection confidence. We may not have every answer, but we do have the presence of the risen Lord. He still comes to meet His people on the road, still calls us not to be afraid, and still sends us to carry hope to others.
Call to Action
Carry one word of Easter hope to someone today through a text, call, or quiet encouragement.
Prayer
Risen Lord Jesus,
thank You for meeting me in both my joy and my fear.
Fill my heart with the hope of Your resurrection
and help me walk forward with courage and peace.
Teach me not to be afraid,
but to trust Your presence and follow where You lead.
Make me a bearer of hope today,
so that others may see Your light through my words and actions.
Amen.
