Reflection
Jesus does not ask the Father to remove His disciples from the world. He asks that they be protected and consecrated in truth. That matters because Christian life is not a retreat from responsibility. It is a call to live differently while remaining present, compassionate, and faithful.
The world can pull the heart in many directions. Fear, pressure, distraction, and division can weaken our focus. Yet Christ’s prayer surrounds us before we even know we need help. He asks the Father to keep us. He gives us His word. He sends us with purpose.
To be consecrated in truth is to let God shape our thinking, choices, speech, and relationships. It means we do not belong to every passing voice. We belong to the Lord. When we live from that belonging, we can serve without losing our center.
Call to Action
Before responding to a difficult situation today, pause and ask: “Is this rooted in the truth and love of Christ?”
Prayer
Father, keep me close to You. Consecrate my heart in truth and guard me from anything that pulls me away from Christ. Help me live faithfully in the world without being shaped by fear or confusion. Amen.
