Jesus prays that believers may be one in Him. Christian unity is more than agreement; it is a visible witness that God’s love is real and active in the world.
Today’s readings invite us to pause and listen for the movement of God’s grace. Paul receives encouragement to continue bearing witness, and Jesus prays for all who will believe through the disciples’ word. The Lord’s desire is that His people be united in the love shared by the Father and the Son.

Reflection
Unity is easy to admire and hard to practice. Jesus’ prayer shows that unity is not a small detail in Christian life. It is part of the witness He desires from His followers. The world should be able to see something of God’s love in the way believers live, forgive, serve, and remain connected in Christ.
This does not mean Christians will never disagree. It does mean that our disagreements should not outweigh our shared life in Christ. Unity begins when we remember that we are not the center. Christ is.
Paul is told to take courage and continue his witness. That same courage is needed in relationships, parishes, families, workplaces, and online spaces. The way we speak and respond can either deepen division or reflect the reconciling love of Christ.
Call to Action
Reach out to one person today with a word that builds peace rather than tension.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, make me an instrument of unity. Heal pride, soften resentment, and help me remember that Your love is greater than my need to be right. Let my life point others toward You. Amen.
