Some days, we need reassurance more than answers. We need to be reminded that God is near, that His grace is enough, and that His love does not grow thin. Today’s readings offer that kind of comfort. They call us to rest in the grace of Jesus and to remain in His love with quiet confidence.
The Word
In Acts 15:7–21, Peter declares that God purifies hearts by faith and that salvation comes through the grace of the Lord Jesus. James then urges the Church not to impose unnecessary burdens on those who are turning to God. Psalm 96 calls all nations to proclaim the Lord’s marvelous deeds. In John 15:9–11, Jesus tells His disciples to remain in His love and says that His joy will be in them so that their joy may be complete.
Reflection
The first reading is a beautiful reminder that God welcomes people by grace. The early Church faced an important question: would new believers be weighed down by rules and burdens, or would they be received through the saving work of Christ? Peter speaks clearly. Hearts are purified by faith, and salvation comes through Jesus. That truth still matters today. We are not loved by God because we perform perfectly. We are loved because He is merciful, and we are saved because Jesus is gracious.
The Gospel brings that grace even closer. Jesus does not merely tell us to admire His love from a distance. He invites us to remain in it. This is a steady, daily abiding. It means staying near to Him, trusting His words, and shaping our lives around His commands. His commands are not cold demands. They are the path of life, peace, and joy.
Many people search for joy in circumstances that change quickly. But Jesus points to something deeper. He offers a joy rooted in communion with Him. His joy does not depend on an easy day or a perfect mood. It grows in the heart that stays with Him. When we remain in His love, we find strength for obedience, peace for the present, and hope for the road ahead.
Today is a good day to let go of any burden God has not placed on you. Come back to the simple center of faith: Jesus loves you, Jesus calls you, and Jesus invites you to remain in Him. That is where joy becomes full.

Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You for loving me with a faithful and steady love. Teach me to remain in You today. Remove the burdens that do not come from You, and help me walk in trust, obedience, and peace. Fill my heart with Your joy, and let my life reflect Your grace. Amen.
