Daily Reflection by John Scigliano for October 11, 2026

An invitation can arrive at an inconvenient time. We may appreciate being included, yet hesitate because our schedules are full. Our relationship with God can face that same tension. We desire His peace, but making room for Him requires a response within the ordinary demands of life.

Isaiah 25:6–10a describes God’s feast for all peoples and His promise to overcome death and wipe away tears. Psalm 23 portrays the Lord as a shepherd who guides, protects, and provides.

In Philippians 4:12–14, 19–20, Paul finds strength in Christ through both abundance and need, while acknowledging the kindness of those who support him.

In Matthew 22:1–14, Jesus tells of a wedding banquet whose invitation is refused and then extended widely. The full passage’s wedding garment scene emphasizes the seriousness of responding to that invitation.

Reflection

It is possible to believe that time with God matters while continually postponing it. One more task, another message, or a lingering worry can fill the space we intended for prayer. Accepting God’s invitation begins with a small, deliberate choice: giving Him our attention in the life we already have.

We do not need to resolve every difficulty before turning toward Jesus. We can bring Him the unfinished work, the strained relationship, and the concern we cannot settle. Prayer gives us a place to be honest and to ask for the grace to take our next step faithfully.

The wedding garment offers a searching question for our reflection: are we willing to let our response to God change how we live? Faith takes shape in patience, honesty, forgiveness, and care for others. Receiving grace calls us to practice these choices, returning to God when we fall short.

An abundant life of faith can grow even during an uncertain season. We can cultivate gratitude, receive help without shame, and offer kindness with what we have. Today, the invitation is personal and practical: make room for Christ, then carry His love into the next conversation, responsibility, or decision.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, thank You for inviting us into life with You. Help us make room for Your presence and allow Your grace to shape our choices. Strengthen our trust in difficult seasons and teach us to welcome others with love. Amen.

Call to Action

Set aside five quiet minutes today to pray: “Lord Jesus, help me respond to Your invitation.” Bring Him one concern and ask for guidance in your next step.
