God invites us to prepare the soil of our hearts, seek His presence, and live with integrity. As Jesus sends His disciples to proclaim the Kingdom, we are reminded that faithful renewal begins with repentance and grows through everyday acts of justice, mercy, and hope.
Our hearts can become crowded with habits, worries, and misplaced priorities. Today’s readings invite us to clear the ground, return to the Lord, and become ready for the work He places before us.
The Word
Hosea calls God’s people to break up new ground, sow justice, and seek the Lord. The psalm encourages us to remember God’s wonderful deeds and continually seek His face.
In the Gospel, Jesus calls the Twelve, gives them authority, and sends them to announce that the Kingdom of heaven is near. Their mission begins not with their own strength, but with the authority and direction of Christ.
Reflection
A productive life is not always a faithful life. Israel had experienced abundance, yet its prosperity led to divided hearts and false worship. God desired more than outward success. He desired hearts rooted in justice, devotion, and trust.
The Lord also asks us to examine the soil of our hearts. Hardened ground may appear through resentment, distraction, pride, or spiritual neglect. Grace invites us to begin again by seeking God sincerely and allowing Him to reshape our priorities.
Jesus sends His disciples to those who are lost and in need. We share in that mission whenever we offer encouragement, practice mercy, defend what is right, or help someone recognize that God is near.

Prayer
Lord, soften the soil of my heart.
Help me seek Your face, sow justice, and follow Your direction.
