Some days feel like a handoff—one season ending, another beginning. In those moments, God doesn’t leave us guessing. He gives us a clear path: be courageous, stay faithful, and go where He sends.
The Word
David’s final counsel to Solomon is simple and strong: keep the Lord’s mandate with your whole heart. The psalm praises God as exalted over all—power and strength belong to Him. In the Gospel, Jesus sends the Twelve two by two, calling them to depend on God, preach repentance, and bring healing—without clinging to extra security.
Reflection
Faithfulness often looks ordinary: choosing God’s ways when no one is watching, honoring His commands in small decisions, and trusting Him with outcomes we cannot control. David points Solomon toward a life anchored in obedience—not for perfection, but for steady devotion.
Jesus’ instructions to the Twelve are strikingly simple: travel light. Don’t stockpile “just in case.” Rely on God’s provision, receive hospitality with gratitude, and keep moving when doors close. This is freedom—serving God without being weighed down by fear, pride, or the need to prove ourselves.
On this Memorial of Saint Agatha, we remember that courage and purity of heart are not only for dramatic moments. They begin today: in honest repentance, in humble faith, and in quiet perseverance. God is exalted over all—and He is able to strengthen you for whatever He asks of you.
Call to Action
Choose one “extra burden” to release today (worry, control, or resentment). Offer it to the Lord, and take one simple step of obedience with a lighter heart.
Prayer
Lord Jesus,
give me courage to be faithful today. Help me to keep Your ways with my whole heart, and to trust You more than what I can carry or control.
Send me where You want me to go, with a humble spirit and a willing yes. Teach me to speak repentance with love, to bring peace where there is trouble, and to offer mercy where there is hurt.
When I am welcomed, let me serve with gratitude. When I am not, help me to release it to You and keep walking in hope.
Strengthen me, Lord, and make my life a quiet witness to Your Kingdom.
Amen.
