Today’s readings reveal the tender faithfulness of God, who chooses, forgives, heals, and invites us to rest in His love. The Sacred Heart of Jesus shows us a mercy that is humble, constant, and strong enough to carry our burdens.
On this Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, we are invited to look again at the love of God—not as something distant, but as a faithful love that reaches for us, restores us, and gives us rest.
The Word
Moses reminds the people that God chose them because He loved them. The psalm praises the Lord’s mercy and kindness. Saint John teaches that God is love, and Jesus invites the weary and burdened to come to Him and find rest.

Reflection
The Sacred Heart of Jesus reveals the heart of God: faithful, merciful, humble, and near. God does not love us because we are strong, impressive, or deserving. He loves because love is who He is.
That truth can bring peace to our weary souls. So often we carry burdens alone—worry, guilt, fear, sorrow, or the pressure to prove ourselves. Jesus does not ask us to hide these burdens. He says, “Come to me.”
To remain in His love means receiving His mercy and letting that mercy shape how we treat others. A heart loved by Christ becomes a heart ready to forgive, encourage, serve, and carry love into ordinary places.
Call to Action
Bring one burden to Jesus today in prayer, and ask Him to help you respond to someone else with His gentle love.
Prayer
Sacred Heart of Jesus, draw my heart close to Yours.
Teach me to trust Your faithful love, receive Your mercy, and share Your compassion with others.
Give rest to my weary spirit and make my heart humble and loving like Yours. Amen.
