Title: Encouraged in Faith, Sent Forth in Love and Peace Today
Saint Barnabas reminds us that the grace of God is meant to be noticed, celebrated, and shared. Today’s readings call us to encourage one another, seek reconciliation, and carry Christ’s saving love into the world with steady hearts.
Today’s readings invite us to look for God’s grace at work in others and to respond with encouragement, peace, and love.
The Word:
In Acts, Barnabas sees the grace of God in Antioch and rejoices. Filled with the Holy Spirit and faith, he strengthens the believers and helps build up the Church. The psalm proclaims that God’s saving power is revealed to all nations. In the Gospel, Jesus calls His disciples beyond outward righteousness into deeper mercy, reconciliation, and purity of heart.

Reflection
Barnabas had a gift for seeing what God was doing. He did not arrive in Antioch with suspicion or pride. He saw grace, rejoiced in it, and encouraged the believers to remain faithful.
That same spirit is needed in our daily lives. We can build others up, notice their growth, and speak words that strengthen rather than wound. Encouragement is not small. In God’s hands, it can help someone remain steady in faith.
Jesus also reminds us that worship and reconciliation belong together. Before offering our gifts, we are called to seek peace where we can. A faithful heart is not only lifted toward God; it is also softened toward our neighbor.
Call to Action
Encourage one person today, and ask God for the humility to seek peace where reconciliation is needed.
Prayer
Lord God, fill me with the faith and goodness of Saint Barnabas. Help me to see Your grace at work in others, speak words that encourage, and seek peace where healing is needed. Send me forth in love, guided by the Holy Spirit. Amen.
