Life can feel uncertain, even overwhelming at times. Questions about the future and the weight of daily concerns can leave us uneasy. Into that space, today’s Gospel offers a gentle but firm reassurance: we are not alone, and we are not without direction.
The Word
In Acts 13:26–33, Paul proclaims that God has fulfilled His promise by raising Jesus from the dead. Psalm 2 declares the authority and sonship of the Lord’s anointed. In John 14:1–6, Jesus tells His disciples, “Do not let your hearts be troubled,” and reveals that He is the way, the truth, and the life.
Reflection
Jesus does not ignore the reality of troubled hearts. He speaks directly to them. His words are not abstract ideas but an invitation to trust. When He says He is “the way,” He offers direction when life feels unclear. When He says He is “the truth,” He provides clarity in a confusing world. When He says He is “the life,” He restores hope where weariness has settled in.
The promise of a place prepared is not distant comfort alone; it is rooted in relationship. We are known, guided, and held by Christ even now. The same power that fulfilled God’s promise through the Resurrection is at work in our lives today.
Trust does not always remove uncertainty, but it anchors us in something greater than our fears. When we focus on Christ, the path ahead becomes less about having all the answers and more about faithfully following the One who does.
Call to Action
Take a moment today to surrender one worry to Jesus. Write it down, pray over it, and consciously place your trust in His guidance.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, quiet my anxious thoughts and steady my heart. Help me trust You as the way when I feel lost, the truth when I feel uncertain, and the life when I feel weary. Lead me in Your peace today and always. Amen.
