Today’s readings invite us to stand firm in truth, trust God in hardship, and receive the life Christ offers. In moments of pressure or uncertainty, we are reminded that faithful obedience is never wasted in the hands of God.
Body
Opening
There are days when doing what is right feels costly. We may face resistance, misunderstanding, or quiet fear. Today’s readings remind us that God meets us there with strength, nearness, and the steady promise of life in His Son.
The Word
In Acts 5:27–33, Peter and the Apostles speak with boldness, choosing obedience to God over human pressure. Psalm 34 declares that the Lord hears the cry of the poor and stays close to the brokenhearted. In John 3:31–36, the Gospel points us to Jesus, the One from above, who speaks the words of God and gives eternal life to those who believe.
Reflection
These readings hold together courage and comfort. The Apostles do not speak boldly because life is easy. They speak boldly because they know who Jesus is. Their confidence is rooted in the risen Lord, not in their own strength. That same invitation is before us today: to be faithful first, even when obedience feels inconvenient or costly.
Psalm 34 gives a tender balance to that courage. God is not distant from those who struggle. He hears. He draws near. He rescues. Faithfulness does not mean we never feel weak; it means we bring our weakness honestly to the Lord and trust Him to sustain us there.
The Gospel lifts our eyes higher still. Jesus is not simply another voice among many. He is the One from above, the One who reveals the Father and offers true life. When we listen to Him and trust Him, our days are shaped by something deeper than fear. We are freed to live with conviction, hope, and peace.

Choose one area today where you need to obey God more fully, and bring it to Him in a quiet moment of trust.
Prayer
Lord Jesus,
Give me the courage to obey You above every fear, every pressure, and every doubt.
When the path is difficult, strengthen my heart.
When I feel weak or misunderstood, remind me that You are near to the brokenhearted and faithful to those who trust in You.
Help me to listen to Your voice,
to believe Your word,
and to walk each day in the light of Your truth.
Teach me to rest in Your presence,
to rely on Your Spirit,
and to find peace in knowing that You hold my life securely in Your hands.
May my words and actions reflect my faith in You,
and may I follow You with confidence, hope, and love.
Amen.
