Today’s readings remind us that resurrection faith is not quiet or timid. Jesus meets doubt with His presence, then sends His people out with courage. Where fear tempts you to stay silent, Christ gives grace to speak with hope and live as His witness.
Opening
Some days, faith feels strong and clear. Other days it feels tested by hesitation, fear, or uncertainty. Today’s readings meet us there and remind us that the risen Jesus still strengthens ordinary people to live and speak with quiet courage.
The Word
In Acts, Peter and John stand firm before opposition because they cannot deny what they have seen and heard. In the Gospel, Jesus meets the unbelief of His followers and still sends them into the world to proclaim the Good News. The thread running through both readings is this: the risen Christ makes faithful witnesses out of imperfect people.
Reflection
This is encouraging for anyone who feels unqualified. The first witnesses were not praised for polish, status, or self-certainty. Their strength came from being with Jesus and being changed by Him. God often works through simple faithfulness more than impressive ability.
The Gospel also speaks gently into our doubts. The disciples struggled to believe the reports of the resurrection, yet Jesus did not abandon them. He came to them, corrected them, and entrusted them with a mission. That means our moments of weakness do not disqualify us from God’s purpose. Christ is patient, and He still calls us forward.
Today’s invitation is not necessarily to do something dramatic. It may be as simple as speaking truth kindly, offering encouragement, praying with confidence, or refusing to hide your hope. Resurrection life is meant to be visible in the way we trust, speak, and love.
Call to Action
Ask the Lord for one opportunity today to show quiet courage and bear witness to His goodness.
Prayer
Risen Lord,
Thank You for meeting me with grace even when my faith feels weak.
Fill my heart with peace, strengthen me with courage,
and help me bear witness to Your goodness in all I say and do.
Teach me to trust You more, love others well,
and walk today in the hope of Your resurrection.
Let my life reflect Your light.
Amen.
