In today’s readings, we are invited to remember the mighty works of God and to hold fast to perseverance in prayer. The Book of Wisdom recounts the night when God’s powerful Word leapt forth from the heavens, preserving His people and transforming creation itself so that Israel could walk safely through the sea. What once threatened to destroy became the very path of deliverance. God acts with purpose, precision, and tender protection.
The Psalm calls us to do what we often forget: remember. Remember the marvels the Lord has done. Remember the promises He keeps. Remember the joy of a people who know they are guided by God’s faithful hand.
Jesus then takes us deeper with the parable of the persistent widow. Her unrelenting cry for justice eventually moves even a corrupt judge. Jesus’ question pierces our hearts:
“When the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?”
This is not a question about belief—it is a question about enduring trust.
Do we pray with confidence even when the answer feels delayed?
Do we persist when we feel unheard?
Do we trust that God’s justice is never late, never absent, never indifferent?
Today, let the Word of God remind you:
God is faithful.
God sees.
God hears.
And God answers—in His perfect time.
May we be found as people who persevere, who pray without losing heart, and who remember the Lord’s wondrous deeds with gratitude.
