Today we celebrate Saint John, Apostle and Evangelist—the beloved disciple whose faith flowed from closeness with Jesus. His witness reminds us that Christianity is not an idea we inherit, but a life we encounter and share.
The Word
John proclaims what he has heard, seen, and touched: the Word of life made visible. In the Gospel, he runs to the empty tomb, sees the signs left behind, and believes. Joy, light, and fellowship flow from this living testimony.
Reflection
Saint John shows us a faith grounded in relationship. He does not speak of rumors or secondhand knowledge, but of personal encounter. His belief grows from love, attentiveness, and trust in what God has revealed.
At the empty tomb, John does not yet understand everything, but he sees enough to believe. This is often our path as well. Faith is not always about having full clarity, but about recognizing God’s quiet signs and responding with an open heart.
John’s witness invites us into fellowship—with the Father, the Son, and one another. When faith is shared, joy is made complete. Our lived faith, rooted in love, becomes a light that others can see.
Call to Action
Today, recall one moment when you truly sensed God’s presence, and thank Him for the gift of faith that continues to grow.
Prayer
Lord Jesus,
You are the Word made visible, the life our hearts long for.
As You did for Saint John, open our eyes to see Your quiet signs
and our hearts to believe with love and trust.
Draw us into deeper fellowship with You,
so that our joy may be complete.
Amen.
