Saturday of the Twenty-Fifth Week in Ordinary Time
Our days pass quickly, but God remains our refuge through every season. Ecclesiastes invites us to remember our Creator, while Jesus asks his disciples to listen even when they do not understand. We can meet today with gratitude, bring our questions to Christ, and trust him with what lies ahead.
A changing season can make us aware of how quickly time passes. The readings invite us to receive this day as a gift and spend it close to God.

Ecclesiastes 11:9–12:8 calls us to enjoy life while remembering our Creator. Psalm 90 asks God to teach us to use our days wisely and to bless the work of our hands. In Luke 9:43b–45, Jesus tells his disciples that he will be handed over. They do not understand and are afraid to ask him about it.
Reflection
Remembering our Creator does not take joy out of life. It helps us recognize where joy comes from. A meal shared, a task completed, or a quiet moment of rest can become an occasion for gratitude.
Psalm 90 gives us a simple prayer for busy days: ask God for wisdom, then place the work of our hands in his care. We may have plans for today, but we do not have to carry them alone.
The disciples heard difficult words from Jesus and could not make sense of them. We may know that feeling when a change or loss leaves us uncertain. Their confusion did not end their journey with him, and ours need not end our conversation with him.
Today’s invitation is to stay near Christ in the time we have been given. We can thank him for one good thing, speak honestly about one question, and trust him for the next step.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank you for the gift of this day. Teach me to use my time wisely and to bring my questions to you. Bless the work of my hands and help me trust you through every season. Amen.
Call to Action
Pause before one ordinary task today. Thank God for the time you have, and ask him to bless what you are about to do.
