Today’s readings invite us to remember God’s faithful care, from manna in the desert to Christ, the living Bread from heaven. In the Eucharist, Jesus gives Himself fully, drawing us into communion with Him and with one another.
God knows our hunger. In every season of need, uncertainty, or weariness, He draws us back to the gift that truly sustains us: His own life given in love.
The Word
In Deuteronomy, Moses calls the people to remember how God fed them with manna in the desert and taught them to depend on His word. The psalm praises the Lord who strengthens, blesses, grants peace, and fills His people with the finest wheat. Saint Paul reminds us that the cup and the bread unite us with Christ and make us one body. In the Gospel, Jesus reveals Himself as the living Bread from heaven, given for the life of the world.
Reflection
The Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ turns our hearts toward the mystery of the Eucharist. God does not feed His people from a distance. He comes near. He provides not only what we need to survive, but what we need to live in Him.
The manna in the desert was a sign of God’s care. But Jesus gives something greater: Himself. He is true food for our souls, the Bread that strengthens faith, renews hope, and draws us into deeper communion with His love.
Because we share in the one loaf, we are called to live as one body. The Eucharist sends us out with humble hearts, ready to love, forgive, serve, and remember that Christ remains with us.
Call to Action
Spend a quiet moment today thanking Jesus for the gift of the Eucharist, and ask Him to help you live in deeper unity with others.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, Living Bread from heaven,
feed my soul with Your grace.
Keep me close to You,
and make my life a gift of love to others.
Amen.
