Today’s readings show that God can bring joy from hardship and hope from uncertainty. Even when life feels scattered, Christ remains the Bread of Life who receives us, sustains us, and leads us forward in faith.
The Word
In Acts, the early Church is scattered by persecution, yet the Gospel continues to spread, and Samaria is filled with joy. In the Gospel, Jesus declares that He is the Bread of Life and promises that He will never reject anyone who comes to Him. Together, these readings reveal a steady truth: God brings life, hope, and purpose even when the path is difficult.
Reflection
The believers in Acts did not wait for perfect conditions to remain faithful. Though they were scattered, they carried the good news with them. What looked like loss became an opening for God’s grace. That is still true today. The places where we feel stretched, displaced, or uncertain may become the very places where Christ is made known through us.
Jesus also speaks a deep word of comfort: whoever comes to Him will not be turned away. We do not have to arrive strong, polished, or fearless. We only need to come. Christ is our true nourishment. He feeds weary hearts, steadies anxious minds, and reminds us that our lives are held in the Father’s will.
So today, do not measure God’s presence only by how smooth life feels. Look instead for His faithfulness in the middle of the day you have been given. Bring your hunger, your questions, and your hopes to Jesus. He is still the Bread of Life, and He is still enough.

Lord Jesus, Bread of Life,
meet me in every place where I feel scattered, weary, or uncertain.
Feed my heart with Your peace and strengthen my faith today.
Help me trust that You will never turn away anyone who comes to You.
Lead me in joy, and make my life a witness to Your love.
