Many people quietly search for meaning, peace, and purpose. Some search through success, others through knowledge, and many through unanswered questions deep within the heart. Today’s readings remind us that God is never far from those who seek Him sincerely.
The Word
In the first reading, Paul stands in Athens before people who worship many gods and proclaim many ideas. He notices an altar dedicated “To an Unknown God” and uses it as an opportunity to share the truth about the Creator of heaven and earth. Paul reminds them that God gives life to all people and desires that every person seek Him and find Him.
In the Gospel, Jesus tells His disciples that the Spirit of truth will guide them. The Holy Spirit will continue to reveal God’s wisdom and glorify Christ, helping believers remain faithful even when the road ahead feels uncertain.
Reflection
Paul’s words in Athens show a patient and compassionate heart. He does not begin with condemnation. Instead, he begins where the people are and gently points them toward the living God.
That same loving invitation continues today. Many people carry spiritual questions, hidden fears, or quiet longing for hope. Some may not yet fully understand God, but the Lord still draws near to them with mercy and truth.
Jesus also reminds His disciples that they will not walk alone. The Holy Spirit would guide, strengthen, and teach them after His departure. God’s wisdom would continue leading them step by step.
We need that same guidance every day. Life often presents decisions, uncertainties, and moments where we do not know the next step. Yet the Holy Spirit still works within willing hearts, bringing clarity, conviction, peace, and encouragement.
God does not abandon those who seek Him. He meets people in searching places, uncertain seasons, and ordinary moments. He patiently leads hearts closer to His truth and fills them with lasting hope.
Today is a good day to pause and invite the Holy Spirit to guide your thoughts, words, and decisions. God is nearer than we sometimes realize.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for drawing near to every searching heart. Lead me by Your Holy Spirit and help me walk in wisdom, faith, and peace. Open my heart to Your truth and teach me to trust You more each day. Amen.
