There are days when the weight of responsibility feels heavy and the path ahead uncertain. In those moments, we may feel small, even alone. Today’s readings meet us there—with reassurance that God listens and responds.
The Word
Queen Esther approaches the Lord in deep anguish, knowing she has no help but Him. She entrusts her life to God and asks for courage and deliverance. The Psalm echoes confidence: when we call, the Lord answers and strengthens us. In the Gospel, Jesus invites us to ask, seek, and knock, promising that the Father gives good gifts to His children and calling us to treat others with the same goodness.
Reflection
Esther’s prayer is bold and honest. She does not hide her fear. She brings it fully before God. That same invitation stands for us. Lent teaches us to turn first to the Lord, especially when we feel most vulnerable.
Jesus deepens that trust. God is not distant or reluctant. He is a loving Father who delights in giving what is good. Sometimes the answer comes as strength rather than escape, wisdom rather than quick relief—but it always comes.
Today, consider what you need most. Bring it to the Father with confidence. Then, live the Golden Rule. As you receive mercy, extend it. As you are heard, truly listen to others.

Heavenly Father,
You are my help and my strength.
When I feel alone or uncertain, remind me that You are near.

Teach me to treat others with the kindness and mercy You show to me.
